The Virginia Tech football jersey heist was only a few days away. My friends and I had been making these plans to snatch the infamous Virginia Tech football jersey out of the trophy room for months now. We were huge fans and our fraternity had been taking the Virginia Tech football jersey out of the trophy case every 4 years for the past 60 years of our existence.
The pressure was on us to perform and get the Virginia Tech football jersey. No one had ever come back to the fraternity house without the infamous Virginia Tech football jersey. Our plan was to cut the power and enter the building at one o’clock in the morning. Two guys were supposed to be the look out men and wait in the bushes outside the building. If anyone started coming our way, they would radio into us on our walkie-talkies.
The guys and I had a key to the trophy room we scored from the janitor. One always had to have an inside guy on any job or it simply could not work. We could almost feel the Virginia Tech football jersey in our hands.
The big night finally came and we were up to the task. The game plan went as scripted and we were in and out in less than 5 minutes with our infamous Virginia Tech football jersey. Once we got back to the fraternity house, everyone had a party waiting on us with one of our favorite sororities. We ended our party by replacing our old Virginia Tech football jersey with the new one and the entire fraternity was happy and relieved that the tradition had been kept alive.
